- The name of the association is: Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, hereinafter also referred to as "Unmanned Vehicle Systems International": "UVS International". Both names may be used independently of each other.
Headquarters
- UVS International is based in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Objective
- UVS International is a non-profit association whose general objective is to represent the interests of the unmanned systems community (air, ground, marine & space), hereinafter referred to as the "US" and "US Community" respectively.
The objectives of UVS International are
- To promote the development, production and use of the USA on all scales and in all classes.
- To promote the future civil and commercial exploitation of the United States.
- Facilitate the exchange of information and cooperation in the U.S. among industry (manufacturers & operators), national & regional government agencies (civil & military), national aviation authorities, universities, training organizations, research & development centers, international organizations and all other relevant stakeholders.
- To take action to promote the introduction and adoption of national, regional and international regulations and laws regarding the use of the United States.
- Promote the introduction of standards, certification and traffic management norms related to the United States at the national, regional and international levels.
- Promote the establishment and adoption of acceptable insurance standards, classifications, and terminology related to the U.S. at the national, regional, and international levels.
- Promotion of fair competition.
- Provide a means for establishing regional and international consensus positions on issues of importance to the U.S. community.
- Give the US community a voice at the regional and global levels.
- Provide a forum to identify and explore business opportunities and areas of interest for the benefit of the U.S. regional or international community.
- Facilitate the coordination of national regulatory efforts at the regional and global levels to promote harmonization.
- Initiate and coordinate national, regional, and international U.S. promotional efforts, which may include conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and educational events.
- To promote and encourage regional and international industrial cooperation.
- Maintain relations with national, regional and international organizations for the benefit of its members.
- To provide a forum for potential users to present their requirements.
- Centralizing US-related information, regulatory and other reference documents.
- Keep members informed of international developments in US-related matters.
- Promote cooperation between industry, R&D organizations, and academic institutions.
- Investigate and consider possible solutions to all U.S.-related problems, particularly scientific, technical, socioeconomic, social, documentary, insurance, and legal problems.
- And to do everything related to this, in the broadest sense of the word, and always with respect for existing safety standards or with the intention of improving them.
